He's a man on a mission

By PABLO FERNANDEZ, CALGARY SUN

With every finish line crossed, momentum for his cancer fundraising efforts keeps growing, says a native Calgarian gearing up to compete in Ironman Hawaii next month.
Cancer survivor, accomplished athlete and investor Tom Tucker, 32, has in one year competed in two Ironman events, raised more than $200,000 for cancer research and shone a light on deadly but rare forms of brain cancer.
Tucker was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2004 and had 80% of the tumour removed -- a chunk the size of a "small apple" -- soon after.
Tucker said donations for the Penticton race -- currently more than $60,000 -- are still coming in and he hopes to raise twice that amount at the Hawaii Ironman. Information is available at www.T4Tcan.com.
